seeMe.ath.cx in Prague
After my talk at the New Media Art Audiences Symposium the 23the of May seeMe.ath.cx is on display in the CIANT GALLERY in Prague until the end of June 2008.
Unfortunately there is no direct on-line connection to the artwork at this time.
In september the artwork will very probably be displayed at CODARTS in Rotterdam.
By that time the artwork will also be on-line again.

Second zuid explorer this Sunday
Sunday 27 April will be the second zuidexplorer. From one till five you are welcome at werkplaats LUNA-TIKS on the Katendrechtse Lagedijk in Rotterdam Zuid.
There will be a performance by Frank and Luuring, a photo exposition by Pieter-Jan de Vries and a walk-in workshop scanner art.

Today I installed the prototype without touch screen, seeMe.ath.cx in the door of our atelier.
Later this week I'll try to get the website of the seeMe.ath.cx, where you can see what the people in front of seeMe.ath.cx see, connected to the outside world. I'll have to set up a router and wifi system first.

Hardware Hacking
For the pre-prototype, without touch screen I got my local computer boer to take apart a packard bell notebook and fix the screen on backwards:
The lid still folds back over the keyboard, and with a simple wooden frame from IKEA I managed today to produce the following piece of art:
Tomorrow I will add a passe partout from black rough paper, leaving a pinhole for the camera, a voila, a hang on the wall computer with an eye :)
I also managed to get processing to talk with the isk-daemon through the xml-rpc protocol. Java is an interesting language, but with a steep learning curve, at least for guys like me who first try everything possible before reading the manuals properly.
